During the printing process at Cambridge University Press, someone inadvertently replaced the name of Elizabeth I with that of Charles III

After receiving Royal Warrants instructing it to make alterations following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, new prayer books were printed with updates to reflect the Accession of the King.

However, during the printing process at Cambridge University Press, someone inadvertently replaced the name of Elizabeth I with that of Charles III in the ratification dating from 1571 of the Thirty-Nine Articles at the back.

This meant that the new version of the prayer book erroneously stated that the King ruled over England, France and Ireland, and not Scotland or Wales.

After the next election, the Bundestag is to shrink from the current 736 to a permanent 630 MPs - and thus not quite as much as originally planned. The factions of the SPD, Greens and FDP have agreed on this, as the German Press Agency learned from coalition circles. The Pioneer news portal was the first to report about it.

The traffic light coalition brought its first draft for an electoral law reform to the Bundestag at the end of January. This included 598 seats in the Bundestag. The figure has now been increased to reduce the number of "orphan constituencies" from which no directly elected MP is sent to Parliament. The amendment has been submitted to the dpa. The reform is to be passed in the Bundestag on Thursday or Friday.

GUANGZHOU/HONG KONG (Reuters) - China's Xi Jinping has given French President Emmanuel Macron an unusually lavish welcome on a state visit, which some analysts see as a sign of Beijing's growing offensive to woo key allies within the European Union to counter the United States.

The two leaders visited southern China together on Friday, where Macron was due to drink Chinese tea with Xi in a former residence of his father in the city of Guangzhou, capital of the economic and manufacturing powerhouse of Guangdong province. :დ

Such forays by Xi with visiting leaders are rare. Diplomats say it underlines the importance Beijing attaches to this relationship with a key member of the EU as it looks for support against what Xi has called "all-round containment, encirclement and suppression" by the U.S.

Noah Barkin, an analyst with the Rhodium Group, said China's chief objective was to prevent Europe from aligning more closely with the United States.

"In this sense, Macron is perhaps Beijing's most important partner in Europe," he said. Macron is often considered by diplomats to be an important driver of key policies within the EU.
